Beer Judge Practice Session
Bill Holmes

The best way to learn to judge beer is to practice judging with an experienced beer judge.

You are invited to a Beer Judge Practice Session at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, July 21, at Chris Frey's house in Saline (directions below). I urge all those interested in judging beer, even if you've never judged before, to attend. This will be a mock competition judging session, like the one we ran last year. We will pair beginners with experienced judges to evaluate beers in several categories. The goal is to provide an opportunity for novice and experienced judges to practice and improve their beer judging skills. With this event, I want to enlist and train new beer judges, and help improve the judging skills of experienced judges. I encourage all participants to help with the Michigan State Fair Homebrew Competition first-round judging, which takes place on Sunday, August 8. So get prepared and come practice! Please notify me if you plan to be there.
